Singapore is a contracting state of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and the Madrid Protocol, which are both administered by the World Intellectual Property Organisation. Under these treaties, a resident or national of Singapore may file international applications with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) as a receiving office.

IPOS' core services include the registration of Patents, Trade Marks and Designs. The Registries process all the applications for patents, trade marks and registered designs in Singapore .
